Video wall price, the honest way

LED video wall cost calculator

LED walls are priced per square foot, and pixel pitch sets the number. Enter your wall size and where people will stand. You'll get the pitch that distance actually needs, an installed range, and the things that will move it. It's a range, not a quote: structure and power vary too much by building to pretend otherwise.

Ranges set October 2, 2026, from CrownTV's LED video wall cost data. Exact number? (347) 410-6890

The rule behind the calculator: closest comfortable viewing distance in feet is about the pitch in millimeters times 3. A P2.5 wall seen from 10 feet looks the same as a P1.2 wall, at roughly a third of the price.

    What moves the price

Pitch. The big one. Halving the pitch roughly quadruples the LEDs per square foot. Buy the pitch your closest viewer needs and not one step finer.

Size. Linear, mostly. Double the area, roughly double the price.

Structure. A flat wall with good blocking is the cheap case. A freestanding steel frame, a ceiling-hung rig or a curve adds engineering and labor, and we price it after a survey rather than guess here.

Processing. The controller that maps the image onto the cabinets. Redundant processing for walls that can't go dark costs more.

Preset vs custom. Samsung's The Wall All-in-One 146" (P1.68, about 10.6 × 6 ft) is $73,999 as hardware from DisplayDetails, with processing built in and a one-day hang. If a preset size fits, it often beats a custom build once structure and labor are counted.

    When the answer is LCD

If your wall is under about 110 to 130 inches diagonal, don't buy LED. A single 98-inch commercial LCD is $9,950 installed with CrownTV. A 2×2 of 55-inch LCD panels, which is exactly 110 inches, runs about $16,000 to $17,200 all-in, and a 3×3 runs $36,000 to $38,700. You'll see thin seams between panels; that's what the LED premium buys away.

We've built a lot of LCD walls, including L'Occitane's 3×3 flagship walls. LCD vs LED, side by side.

    Get the quote broken out

Whoever you buy from, ask for a per-square-foot number and line items for panels, processing, structure, power, install and calibration. A quote missing structure or install isn't cheaper. It's incomplete.

    Common questions

    LED video wall price questions

How much does an LED video wall cost?

Installed direct-view LED runs roughly $500 to $900 per square foot at coarse indoor pitch (P3 to P4), $900 to $1,600 at P2.5, $1,500 to $2,500 at fine pitch (P1.5 to P1.9) and $2,500 to $4,000+ at micro pitch (P0.9 to P1.2). Those figures include panels, processing, structure and installation. Ranges set October 2, 2026.

What is the cost of an LED video wall vs an LCD video wall?

Below roughly 110 to 130 inches diagonal, LCD wins on price every time. A 2×2 LCD wall of 55-inch panels (110 inches) runs about $16,000 to $17,200 all-in with CrownTV. Above that size, or wherever no seams are acceptable, direct-view LED is the only option.

How much does an 8×12 LED wall cost?

An 8 × 12 ft LED wall is 96 square feet, so it runs about $48,000 to $86,400 installed at P3 to P4 for viewers 10 or more feet away, $86,400 to $153,600 at P2.5, and $144,000 to $240,000 at P1.5 to P1.9 for viewers 5 to 6 feet away. Those ranges include panels, processing, standard structure and install. Enter 12 and 8 in the calculator above to see power draw and notes for your room.

Why are online LED wall kits so much cheaper?

A 10×5 ft P2.9 kit listed online around $11,000 to $15,000 works out to about $220 to $300 per square foot because it's hardware only: event-grade cabinets, a basic sending card and a ground-stack frame. Structure, power circuits, install, calibration and service aren't in the box. For a church or event crew that sets it up and packs it away, a kit can be the right buy.

    What does installation add?

In our per-square-foot ranges it's already included. When quoted separately, installation typically adds 15 to 30% on top of hardware: structural frame, dedicated power, data cabling, the processor rack, alignment and color calibration. Curved walls, ceiling-hung rigs and after-hours work push it higher.

    What are the running costs?

Power at roughly 30 to 60 watts per square foot in normal use, so a 12×7 ft wall pulls 2.5 to 5 kW at peak. Spare modules: order 5 to 10% from the same production batch at purchase. And one calibration and service visit a year.
